If you use it as an excuse to get your way or be babies, I would run. At times, it can be difficult to hide the intensity of these emotions. It was just too much effort. I thought pills would be the answer but a few valiums just masks it and after a while they don't work. If you can handle it, sure why not. If other people could see my anxiety, that would escalate it big time. If extreme shyness regularly leads to avoidance of anxiety-provoking situations then cognitive behavioural therapy can help.
